Mr. Tapscott is a recognized information technology strategist, CTO, speaker (see for example http://www.hmgstrategy.com/events/speakers.asp?eventID=119), and architect with a diversified background in organisational creation and transformation. He is a contributing research associate and author for the Blockchain Research Institute. He is currently on a cross US tour speaking to CIO’s with HMG Strategy on CIO/CEO leadership challenges. Bob, as a consultant and as an adviser to CIOs of some of the world’s largest companies has driven innovations from concept creation to market disruption, delivering millions in proven results, both above and below the line. Bob has consulted on the intersection of strategy and emerging technologies to CEOs and CIOs for a variety of multinationals, including (most recently) VMware, DIRECTV, SAP, JPMorgan, Disney, Citi, BestBuy, and DIRECTV, on topics including security, Business Intelligence / Analytics, cloud computing, and social software. He has advised SAP on how to deploy emerging technologies for greater market presence. His recent efforts include creating the Social Enterprise, ITaaS / SaaS, Best Practices / Security, Analytics / BI, The Blockchain, Fintech, Cloud Computing, and Statistical Analytics.
Bob was a critical part of the original design team for the predominate financial systems at Citi where he managed, designed, and implemented systems for services which included DDA accounts, foreign exchanges, loans and deposits, credit cards, mortgages as well as their associated derivatives and risk, all while synthesizing global requirements in Toronto, New York, Brussels and Sao Paulo. The systems current manifestation is Oracle FLEXCUBE. He has consulted to governments in three different countries on how to more fully engage their citizens.
