Global Blockchain Summit Announces Gerald Rome

We are very excited to announce that Mr. Gerald Rome, Colorado’s Security Commissioner, will be speaking at the Global Blockchain Summit on October 19, 2018.

Mr. Rome became Securities Commissioner on June 2, 2014. In that role, he is responsible for the administration of the Colorado Securities Act, the Colorado Commodity Code, the Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Act, and the Local Government Investment Pool Trust Fund Administration and Enforcement Act. In addition, Mr. Rome is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA).

From 2004 to 2013, Mr. Rome was the Deputy Securities Commissioner for the Colorado Division of Securities. As Deputy Commissioner, he directed the division’s enforcement, licensing, and examination activities. Prior to 2004, he served for five years as the division’s chief legal counsel in all of its civil enforcement matters as First Assistant Attorney General for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. From 2010 to 2013 he was an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business, teaching real estate securities law.

In addition to his work as securities regulator, Mr. Rome served as Senior Attorney for the Resolution Trust Corporation/FDIC, where he directed the Civil Fraud Task Force for the Denver office. Mr. Rome has also worked for six years as a criminal prosecutor, including two years prosecuting securities law violations investigated by the Colorado Division of Securities.

Mr. Rome received his J.D. degree from the University of Denver School of Law, and his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
